Randy Bekendam
Randy Bekendam is a man deeply committed to preserving open spaces for regenerative agriculture. He has worked alongside his daughter, Amy, for the past 27 years supporting the growth and development of the Amy’s Farm institution, contributing time, expertise, and steady leadership. His values are best summed up in his quote about food justice:
“There can be no argument that the current state of our world system is deeply flawed. The cases of injustice, inequality, and oppression are too numerous to count. Food injustice and insecurity is a foundational reality that desperately needs to be addressed.
Thomas Jefferson has been famously quoted: ‘Whenever there is in any country, uncultivated lands and unemployed poor, it is clear that the laws of property have been so far extended as to violate natural right. The earth is given as a common stock for man to labor and live on.’
The multiplication of small-scale, chemical-free food production enterprises is the answer to our world’s hunger problem. Eating food produced in a regenerative, sustainable way is the solution to the bulk of our world’s underlying health problems. The composting of food waste and wood product waste mixed with surplus manures can create the nutrient dense soil needed to grow good food.
Millions of people growing and choosing healthy food can start the food revolution we need. Each of us should taste and enjoy the goodness God made in real food.”

Amy Owen
Amy and her father Randy started Amy’s Farm 27 years ago to share the everyday joys of farm life. She believed everyone should connect with nature, feel the warm soil, pull a fresh carrot from the earth, and meet friendly farm animals.
For 25 years, hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren toured the farm with knowledgeable guides, and many dedicated volunteers planted, tended, and harvested crops year-round.
After Amy’s Farm closed in 2023, Amy continues to grow food at a new farmstead to supply fresh produce to her restaurant, Uno Tre Otto, which she owns with her husband. She plans to reopen hands-on programs like the ones she ran before, bringing community education and farm experiences back to life.

Savannah Owen
Savannah is Amy’s daughter and has a deep passion for farm life that she brings into many areas of the farm. She leads our CSA program, works diligently in the garden, and cares for the animals each day. In addition to her farm responsibilities, she is a full-time student at Chaffey Community College and is expecting her first child this spring.
She balances a busy, purpose-driven life and remains devoted to cultivating the land.
Her passion and fervor for life are genuinely contagious, inspiring everyone around her to embrace each moment with renewed energy.
